The Digital Theological Library

The Digital Theological Library (DTL) is a comprehensive online research library that provides access to millions of ebooks, e-journal articles, and other resources, with a strong focus on religious, biblical, and theological studies, as well as resources in psychology, counseling, and related fields.

Access to DTL is currently on trial. Please share your feedback using this form.

Tips for using DTL:

  • Start with keywords, not full questions. Use key concepts related to your topic rather than complete sentences. For example, search for Christian leadership instead of What does the Bible say about Chrsitian leadership?
  • Use quotation marks for exact phrases. Enclosing words in quotation marks searches for the exact phrase. For example. "Christian ethics"
  • Take advantage of filters. Refine your search results using filters such as resource type (books, articles), publication date, author, and subject.
  • Use hyperlinked author names and subject terms. From the results list, click a hyperlinked title to view the item's detailed record, where you can click a hyperlined author name or subject heading to discover additional resources by the same author or on the same topic.
  • Use Advanced Search Features. Advanced Search allows you to search specific fields (e.g., title, author, subject), combine multiple concepts, and create targeted searches. For example, enter "David" in the Title field and "worship" in the Subject field to narrow your search.
  • Explore Subject Guides. Browse curated Subject Guides to quick find resources on a specific topic. Simply select a subject or topic to view related resourcs, then click the hyperlinks to access them on their respective platform. To continue your search, return to the DTL Library Catalog or Subject Guides rather than using the external platform's search function.
